Fresh protest programme issued: Separatists extend shutdown upto Sept 7

SRINAGAR: The united separatist leadership on Wednesday extended the ongoing shutdown call by seven more days, upto September 7, and appealed people to follow the issued protest programme.

Here is the protest calendar, announced by the separatists, in verbatim: –

September 2 (Friday)

  • No relaxation in shutdown
  • Join for ‘azadi march’ from every mohalla, village and locality towards respective Tehsil Headquarters
  • Offer Friday prayers at Tehsil Headquarters

September 3 and 4 (Saturday and Sunday)

  • Relaxation in shutdown from 6 pm to 6 am
  • Occupy Srinagar Airport road, Lal Chowk and District Headquarters from 9 am to 6 pm
  • Protest with flags, banners and placards with messages “We want freedom” and “Go India Go back”
  • Offer Zuhr and Asr prayer on roads
  • Play Islamic and Azadi taranas (anthems) in Mosques throughout the day, especially along Srinagar Airport road

September 5 (Monday)

  • No relaxation in shutdown
  • Organize one day azadi convention from 11 am to 4 pm in respective areas
  • Deliberate and discuss ways and means to strengthen the ongoing movement for right to self-determination

September 6 (Tuesday)

  • Relaxation in shutdown from 6 pm to 6 am
  • Assemble and occupy local chowks and centers from Zuhr to Asr in the vicinity of your mohallas, villages and localities
  • Protest peacefully

September 7 (Wednesday)

  • Relaxation in shutdown from 6 pm to 6 am
  • Assembly and occupy highway from Banihal to Salamabad Uri and all other inter-district roads from 11 am to 4 pm
  • Offer Nimaz-e-Zuhr on roads

September 8 (Thursday)

  • Relaxation in shutdown from 6 pm to 6 am
  • Paint all roads, lanes, walls, post and polls with resistance slogans
  • Offer Zuhr on roads

  • Protests be held across Jammu and Kashmir
  • Shutdown across Jammu and Kashmir on all days except the relaxation mentioned in the programme
  • Lockdown all routes entering your mohallas, villages and localities by every means during night to protect people in general and youth in particular from the raids and arrests by Indian forces and J&K police
  • Play Islamic and Azadi taranas from Maghrib to Isha everyday
  • Paste this protest programme poster on the entrance of every Mosque, in market places, Mohallas and local chowks
