Earthquake with epicentre in Budgam shakes Kashmir valley

SRINAGAR: An earthquake of magnitude 3.3 on Richter scale occurred in Kashmir valley Wednesday evening at 8:02 pm.

According to the coordinates of the epicentre, provided to JandK Now by Srinagar based meteorological department, the epicentre of the earthquake was in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, about three kilometres west of Srinagar airport.

The earthquake lasted for around five seconds. Focus of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometres.

No loss of live or property was reported.
