SRINAGAR: Concerned authority on Friday issued date-sheet for secondary and higher-secondary school annual regular examination in Kashmir division, even though schools across Kashmir valley have remained shut for 74-days since the ongoing uprising began on July 8.

The date-sheet issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education announces secondary school (class 10) examination from November 15 to 28, and senior-secondary school (class 12) examination from November 14 to December 3.

The authority had earlier announced postponing the examination by nearly a month in view of the prevailing situation. The exams used to be held in the month of October earlier.

Almost 89 people – including three policemen – have died since the mass protest began on July 8 with the killing of armed rebel commander Burhan Wani in an encounter with government forces in south Kashmir.

Schools, colleges and universities have remained shut since then amid continued separatists-called shutdown and government-imposed restrictions.
