SRINAGAR – The pro-freedom group Hurriyat Conference (M) led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has called for a shutdown in Kashmir on Tuesday, February 10, against killing of a local youth by government forces in Palhallan town of North Kashmir.

According to a party statement, Mirwaiz appealed people to observe a complete shutdown on the day to protest the killing. Mirwaiz condemned the killing saying such incidents by forces deserved wide condemnation.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (JK) senior leader Shabir Ahmad Shah also condemned the killing of the Palhallan youth, saying his amalgam stands with the bereaved family at this hour of great loss.

Pertinently, a youth was killed while many other were injured when government forces opened fire on them while they were protesting to demand the return of mortal remains of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, who was hanged in Delhi’s Tihar jail two years back.
