SRINAGAR – A Kashmiri actor is all set to make his debut in Bollywood with first film having him in lead role scheduled to release next month.
Danish Bhat, resident of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, has been staying in Mumbai for six years. Now, his debut film – Ho Gaya Dimaagh ka Dahi – is scheduled to release on October 16.
“It was my father Muhammad Ishaq Bhat who always encouraged and inspired me,” Danish Bhat said.
He said that his love for Kashmir will never decrease. “My roots are from Kashmir. My family and friends are there. I visit there,” he added.
“[The film] is a complete comedy love story and I am playing a lead role of Veeru, younger son of well known face Kadir Khan,” said Danish. “I wish to burn the silver screen by my performance as one of the lead roles.”
Danish said that his first Bollywood film takes laughter to its original form with five great comedians Om Puri, Sanjay Mishra, Raajpal Yadav, Razzaq Khan and veteran Qadir Khan coming together. It is produced by Santosh Bhartiya and Fauzia Arshi. It has music, story, dialogues and direction by Fauzia Arshi.
Responding to a question, Danish said that Kashmiris are known for good looks and hard work but one must also have an attitude and talent to hit the bulls eye.
A bachelor of science, Danish made his television debut as an actor in a daily soap opera Amrit Manthan. “I wanted to become a model. Prior to stepping into TV, I did a few commercials with MS Dhoni, Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, etc. and did various print shoots.”
