SRINAGAR – A day after senior separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani castigated chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed over Masrat Alam’s detention under Public Safety Act (PSA), government Friday said action will be taken against any person who violates the constitution of the state.
“It is not the state government or any party but the law of the land which governs the state. It is the law of the land which will take action against anyone who violates its content. As far as the battle of ideas is concerned, there is a red line for that as well. We are operating within the constitution and if someone would openly violate it, law will come into force,” Mufti’s close confidant and education Minister Naeem Akhtar told KNS.
Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani had slammed CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, saying ‘battle of ideas claim, proved to be a big hoax’. Geelani had said there is “no moral or legal justification” in arresting or slapping PSA on Alam.
