Srinagar: A non-resident of Kashmir was brought dead to a government hospital in Srinagar in ‘suspicious circumstances’, a police spokesperson said.
The deceased was later identified as Mohammad Azad resident of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, the spokesperson said. He is believed to be 24 years old. Azad was working in Shri Pratap Singh Museum in Srinagar as an electrician.
According to police, some locals informed police station Rajbagh that the deceased was brought dead to the hospital in suspicious circumstances.
Police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in this regard and the investigations have been started. Body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites, after completing legal formalities.
