Man stages his fake kidnapping to avoid marriage against his will

Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday claimed to have held a person accused of staging his fake kidnapping in order to avoid marrying a girl with whom he was engaged without his will.

Panic gripped the house of Arshid Ahmad Magray of Qasbayar when some unknown gunmen entered his house and apparently kidnapped him during the intervening night of February 21 / 22. However, during the investigation police found that the abductors included his brother and four of his friends, who helped him to stage a fake abduction.

As per the official sources, his brother and friends pretended to be militants in order to stage fake abduction during night hours. However, Arshid stayed at his friend’s house in Kral. Police later traced the person from Wathoo village.

Police said that the abduction was staged in order to give this impression that the girl to whom he was engaged with had an affair with someone else who got him kidnapped.

Giving details about the case, a police spokesperson said that Arshid’s brother, Shahmeem Ahmad, lodged a complaint at police station Rajpora on February 22 station therein that Arshid was abducted by some unknown gunmen. Police them started to investigate the case.

Police sources said that Arshid staged the drama of abduction with the help of his brother Shahmeem Ahmad Magray and his friends Ferooz Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Ismal resident of Qasbayar, Fayaz Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Nabi Shah resident of Moshwara , Javid Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Gani Dar resident of Karl check, Ashiq Hussain Shah son of Ghulam Rasool Shah resident of  Moshwar.

The vehicle used for the fake abduction was driven by Tariq Ahmad Mir son of Bashir Ahmad Mir resident of Ayengund and was bearing registration number JK13B-0299.

Police said that they would take action against the people involved in this staged abduction.
