Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister – Omar Abdullah – on Sunday called the creation of new administrative units in the State as a ‘historic decision’ of the ruling National Conference – Congress coalition government.
The chief minister said that necessary paraphernalia for the newly created administrative units would be created alongwith arranging funds so that they become functional as soon as possible.
Omar said that the decision was made in order to take the administration to the doorsteps of people. He said that the move would also help in all-round development of people especially those living in remote areas of the State.
The Chief Minister said this during a meeting with a deputation from Pulwama, Rajpora, and Shahoora that met him Sunday morning.
