JKLF to hold protest rally in Srinagar against closure of Pathribal case

Separatist group – Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front – announced on Saturday that it would hold protest rally in Srinagar city on Friday, February 28, against the closure of Pathribal ‘fake’ encounter case. The rally is scheduled to be held at City center Lal Chowk.

The party talked against the Army officers who were allegedly responsible for ‘mercilessly’ killing ‘innocent’ civilians in Pathribal village about fourteen years back. It said that the party would continue to protest against giving clean chit to Army in this case.

“We will not let our protest rest till the killers of Pathribal are brought to justice”, party leader Yasin Malik said. The decision to hold protest demonstration was made in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Yasin Malik.

Malik also lashed out at the pro-India politicians of Jammu and Kashmir accusing them of befooling common people and shedding crocodile tears. He said that these politicians were staging a drama of being against the Army’s decision to close Pathribal case. “These politicians are staging the same drama on the case of Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guru, and recent Supreme Court decision about Rajiv Gandhi’s killers”, Malik said.

During the meeting, the members also talked about the Kunanposhpora mass rape case calling it ‘another example’ of India ‘oppressive behavior’ against Kashmiris. The meeting has decided to send a delegation of the party members to Kunanposhpora in north Kashmir on Sunday, February 23, that would hold a protest against the case.
